Nissan has unveiled its new IDS autonomous electric concept car at the Tokyo Motorshow. The company said the IDS was the next step of its plan to launch a number of autonomous vehicles by 2020.
Nissan said it had made long-distance driving a priority for its electric car designs, and claimed the its 60kWh battery, in combination with a lightweight and aerodynamically designed carbon-fibre body was “designed to also meet the need to drive long distances”, although the exact length of said distances isn’t currently specified.
